MIM Technology Is Widely Used For Mobile Phones

Nowadays, several parts of mobile phones are manufactured by metal injection moulding (MIM). For example, the oscillator made of tungsten is used to balance the weight and the hinge made of high strength steel. The important application of MIM in mobile phones is to make slides, barrels and hinges. "The advantages of metal injection moulding and the improvement of metal injection moulding technology will increase its application in mobile phone manufacturing. The lack of understanding of metal injection moulding in mobile phone manufacturing industry has affected its application," said the company's president.


Nowadays, metal injection moulding (MIM) is only used to make some mobile phones with complex structures and functions, such as mobile phones with flips. The company's President said: "Considering the manufacturing time and cost, it is not appropriate to use metal injection moulding parts to manufacture ordinary mobile phones."
