(1) Process characteristics restrict MIM products range
MIM is usually used to produce high-complexity, high-precision, high-strength and exquisite-looking parts, especially for small parts with complex shape and cannot be processed by CNC machining. However, for larger parts, the raw materials cost is high and the demand of binders is quite large. Meanwhile, it is easy to lead to product size deviation after sintering, which cannot effectively guarantee the accuracy requirements. In the future, with the continuous progress of industry technology, the size and scale of MIM products will gradually break through.
(2) The industry needs to be further regulated
MIM industry is a newly developed industry, which is still in its infancy and lacks specific national and industry standards. As a result, a large number of enterprises enter this industry. Some small-scale enterprises are subject to the restrictions of funds, technology, management and market. The overall level of R&D, production and sales are relatively fragile. The precision and stability of products are not guaranteed. They are often in a weak position in market competition. In order to obtain a certain market share, they will deduct product price to obtain orders which caused some adverse effects to market. In the future, with the improvement of China MIM gradual standardization, the formulation, implementation and improvement of industry standards, such problems will be solved.
(3) Shortage of professionals
MIM requires high comprehensive quality and technical level of talents, including professional, technical, management ability and so on. However, for many practitioners in the industry, the accumulation of core experience needs to go through many stages, such as long-term learning, exploration, sharing, precipitation and so on. The period of self-cultivation and promotion of talents is long. Therefore, at present, the industry often face the shortage of talent cultivation and accumulation, and lack of relevant professionals, which has a certain restriction on the rapid development of the industry.
