Reasons For The Rusty MIM Mould

In MIM, the mould is very important, which affects the final parts quality. If the protection is not good, the mould will rust. We must pay attention to it. Through reasonable analysis, we can finish production more efficiently.


Gas produced by melt decomposition. Some raw materials will release volatile gases after heating. These gases are mostly corrosive and diffuse around the machine. When the die does not work, it is easy with rusts.


For this reason, when the machine stops working, the mould must be wiped clean by soft cloth and closed. If it is not used for a long time, antirust agent should be sprayed in the mould cavity. When closing the die, butter could be applied and the gate be blocked.


Cooling water in die. Cooling water is often used in the mould, so there is more water gas around the machine. If the mould is cooled to dew point, the moisture in the air will form water droplets on the surface of the mould. If it is not erased in time, the mold will rust. Especially when the die stops working, condensate will be produced quickly. Therefore, don't stop working frequently. Even if you want to stop, you should turn off the cooling water and dry the mould.


Carbide produced during injection. After working for a long time, carbides are precipitated and decomposed in the forming material, which often causes the die to wear, corrode or rust. In this regard, if it carbides are formed, it should be wiped off with a dry cloth immediately.
