Application of MIM components in automotive industry

The automotive industry has become a major application area for MIM components such as engines, gearboxes, turbochargers, locking mechanisms, steering systems and electronic systems.

One type is the rocker arm that rotates with the roller. This is a rocker arm made of low alloy steel that controls the variable valve timing stroke of the engine. It is characterized by its hollow structure form and light weight, which is difficult to make with other methods.

Turbocharger blade

The MIM variable-section nozzle blades used in automotive diesel turbochargers are highly productive. This part can meet the strict dimensional tolerance requirements, cutting can make the blade profile to ±0.015mm accuracy.


The blades are made with special molds, which have excellent sliding function when opened and can reduce deformation when released. MIM production can reduce production cost by 20%.


Now, the most advanced is the MIM high temperature alloy parts production, its market share has been increasing. Materials such as Inconel 713 have available MIM injectors.


The MIM process, which USES finely dispersed powder, delivers parts with uniform microstructure, which greatly improves the microstructure of precision casting products.
