The Guangdong Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment held a symposium of some industry associations to report on the implementation of the pollution permit system in Guangdong Province in the past two years, listened to the opinions of the industry associations on the implementation of the pollution permit system, exchanged opinions with various industry associations, and implemented the next step in the implementation of pollution permits.The forum was hosted by Zhou Guoying, deputy director of the Provincial Environmental Protection Department, Xin Guosheng, founding chairman / secretary-General of GPCA, and Li Shuai, deputy secretary-general of GPCA / SPCA.

Since the implementation of the national sewage permit system, Guangdong Province has issued sewage discharge licenses for 15 industries including thermal power, papermaking, steel, cement, electroplating, printing and dyeing in 2017, and has issued sewage discharge licenses for 7 industries including starch, slaughter, and water treatment in 2018. . As of July 15, 2019, a total of 5,155 national pollution permits had been issued.

     Emission permits for 22 industries including battery manufacturing, automobile manufacturing, computer / communications and other electronics manufacturing (including PCB) will be issued in 2019.

     The meeting also discussed the next step in the implementation of the sewage permit system. The meeting recommended that leading enterprises in the industry be the first to fill in the report to lead other enterprises. Obtaining a certificate is only the starting point. Enterprises must still do a good job in technical specifications and self-certify and abide by the law.
