Micro mechanical or micro electro mechanical system (MEMS) is a new interdiscipline developed in the late 1980s. It has been recognized as one of the key subjects in the twenty-first Century.
The application of MEMS or MEMS depends on the progress of micro fabrication technology. Metal micro injection molding is one of the most effective methods to produce high precision and high performance micro metal or ceramic parts in batch and high efficiency.
Metal micro injection molding technology refers to the process of producing micron or micrometer structural metal or ceramic parts by using MIM process. It generally refers to the precise parts whose size is smaller than 1mm or local micron level fine structure.
At present, with appropriate fine powder, the metal or ceramic parts with 25~50 um thickness, local structure details less than 5um and surface roughness 2~3 -uM can be obtained.
The size of metal injection molding parts is developing to two extremes, and micron precision parts have huge market capacity and development potential. These small parts have very high added technical value, such as fiber metal sleeve, laser tube, printed circuit micro drill, micro electronic actuator and dental medicine, and the price is 4000~20000 USD per kilogram.
