McKinsey Co, a global management consulting company, has listed MIM (metal Injection Moulding) as second technologies in the first ten advanced manufacturing technologies, a report on advanced manufacturing and industrial 4 and future factories.

Although the technology is not competitive for the production of large parts, MIM is considered to be a choice for more and more manufacturers with more than 5000 pcs per year, less than 200 grams per unit weight and complex geometric parts.
