Ultrasonic polishing method is to put the parts into the abrasive suspension and place them together in the ultrasonic field and use the oscillation of the ultrasonic wave to make the abrasive grinding and polishing on the surface of the workpiece. Ultrasound processing has a small macro-force and will not deform the workpiece, but it is difficult to fabricate and install the tool.
Ultrasound polishing can be combined with chemical or electrochemical methods. On the basis of solution corrosion and electrolysis, using ultrasonic vibration to agitate the solution to separate the dissolved matters from the products surface, and average the electrolyte near the surface. The cavitation effect of ultrasound in the liquid can also restrain the corrosion process, which is conducive to the brightening of the surface.
