Compared with tradition process, the stainless steel MIM has net-shape, high precision, high material utilization rate, uniform structure organization etc advantages. However, the stainless steel MIM parts aren't perfect. The following passage will share some experiences to avoid defects of parts.
Most of the injection molding defects are from injection process and they are visible. Some other defects may happen in next sintering process, but it also can track back to injection process. Thus, the quality control of MIM is very important.
The characteristics of the defects in injection process: its appearance have burr, flash, foaming,corrugated surface, layered or skin, depression and surface black spots deformation, low green strength, mold paste operation. The factors and reasons of these defects are not same,the temperature of injection and pressure is the key factors.
